40: Approved LVT Mats for LVT Flooring

40.1 Use of Approved LVT Mats
Only approved LVT mats specifically designed for use with LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring should be utilized. Approved LVT mats are those that are non-staining, non-discoloring, and chemically compatible with LVT materials.

40.2 Consequences of Using Non-Recommended Mats
Any discoloration, staining, or damage resulting from the use of non-recommended mats will not be covered under any warranty or maintenance agreement. In such cases, the replacement of affected sections of LVT flooring will be charged at the standard rate, including labor and materials.

40.3 Characteristics of LVT Safe Mats
LVT safe mats are characterized by:
- Non-rubber backing: Rubber-backed mats can cause staining and discoloration. Approved mats should have a vinyl, woven, or other non-staining backing.
- Chemical compatibility: The mats should not contain any chemicals that can react with the LVT flooring material.
- Non-staining: The mats should be explicitly labeled as "non-staining" and safe for use with LVT flooring.

40.4 Obtaining Approved Mats
Customers can obtain a list of approved LVT mats from the manufacturer or authorized dealer. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the mats used comply with these specifications to avoid any potential damage or discoloration of the LVT flooring.

40.5 Inspection and Maintenance
Regular inspection and maintenance of both the LVT flooring and the mats used are recommended. Any signs of wear, discoloration, or damage should be addressed promptly to prevent further issues.

By following these guidelines, customers can ensure the longevity and appearance of their LVT flooring while avoiding unnecessary replacement costs.
